Elisabeth Haich (1897-1994) was a renowned sculptor from Budapest. At the end of World War II, she had to flee Hungary. In 1948, she, along with Selvarajan Yesudian founded in Switzerland what's the oldest school of yoga in Europe. Initiation is an extraordinary book penned by her in 1953. Initiation is initially set in Hungary, pre-World War II. But a spell-binding story within a story soon emerges. Elisabeth Haich recounts the dramatic story of her initiation in a past life in Egypt circa 4500 BC during the reign of Pharaoh Atothis. Incidentally, the latter happened to be her father. Elisabeth Haich sets the tone for the book right at the beginning "It is far from my intentions to want to provide a historical picture of Egypt. My concern here is only with the human, not with ethnography and history." Initiation is a book you simply can't put down. The story effortlessly shifts back and forth between Egypt circa 4500 BC and Hungary, pre-World War II. Elisabeth Haich interconnects the lucid memories of her past life in ancient Egypt with her present life in Hungary. To inhale the wisdom that unfolds from the pages of this book you need to keep an open mind. Elisabeth Haich speaks about a lost civilization of a race of people who were technologically and spiritually far more advanced than us. These people knew how to liberate their vehicles from the gravitational pull of the Earth and make them fly with the power of thought. Further, we come to know how, by whom and for what purposes the pyramids at Giza were built. Elisabeth Haich also sheds light on Moses (how he really split the Red Sea), Jesus Christ and the profound truths contained in the Bible. We all know that if we spin a top, it starts to wobble as it slows down. The Earth too wobbles like a top as it rotates on its axis. In Initiation, Elisabeth Haich tells us that it takes the Earth approximately 25,920 years or one full cycle of the 12 constellations of the Zodiac to complete one wobble. It takes about 2160 years for the vernal point to move through one constellation of the Zodiac. Elisabeth Haich discusses what lies in store for the world in the coming Age of Aquarius. She says that the boundary between science and religion would disappear. A great teacher would prove to the world that the inner core of all religions is one and the same truth, thus abolishing all the differences that seem to exist between the three main religions of the world, today. Also, it's about then that we would really begin to understand how our entire universe is teeming with life.
